In brief

If you’ve tuned into some of the world’s biggest sporting moments, chances are you’ve already had me in your living room.

My voice has been the soundtrack to some of the most defining moments in global sport, from Olympic ceremonies to World Cup finals, blending encyclopaedic sports knowledge with storytelling that aims to give goosebumps, not just score updates.

I’ve worked with leading global broadcasters, advised sporting bodies on raising their broadcast game and as a trainer have helped athletes, commentators and public figures sharpen their communication skills in high-pressure environments.

Commentary

Across more than 60 sports, I have had the of privilege of engaging audiences through energy and emotion, knowledge and insight and timing and pacing to tell a story that makes viewers live every moment.

I’ve been lead commentator for 13 Olympic and Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies and lent my voice to sports documentaries including Neymar, Sprint and Court of Gold on Netflix.

Awards have come my way, but the real reward is being able to say, with a straight face, that I’ve watched more sport than is medically advisable… and been paid for it.

Broader media

I cut my teeth in radio, before delving into television and print, covering everything from news reading to production planning.

I also contributed to the IFAB’s Simplified Laws of the Game and even played myself in the 2011 football film Inside Story. Spoiler alert: I nailed the role.

What else?

Off mic, I’m a husband, father of two and pub quiz menace. I hold a clean driving licence, have visited 118 countries and according to my kids, can whip up a decent meal.

For fun, I climb volcanoes, swim with sharks and have hiked over 100km of the Great Wall of China.
